I want to share something that was inspiring to me. 2 years ago a brand new mission was opened in Washington...the Washington Yakima Mission. The Mission President's wife has FB and blogged all of the happenings from day one. It has been an amazing adventure to watch it all unfold. She is one of the nicest women ever. I count her as a friend and love her for all of her unselfish goodness.
Of course she would understandably talk about Missionaries but what she shared is something that I feel would benefit all of us.
Take some rejuvenating time and read through both of these. The first one... it's about 8 overlooked skills that people should know before going on a mission. I think we all need to learn the 8 skills!
Teach them how to be humble without feeling humiliated
Teach them how to take rejection
Teach them how to be motivated
Teach them to manage differences
Teach them how to have a conversation
Teach them to care for themselves
Teach them how to be positive
Teach them to be spiritual
The author then has lots of straight to the point suggestions as to how to accomplish each of these skills. It will help all of us. What a guide!!
